Annual Flash Fiction Contest
The Pikes Peak Branch of the National League of American Pen Women Inc. sponsors an annual flash fiction contest. This national contest challenges authors to "tell a story" using only one hundred words. This year's creative submissions came from around the country.
Contest Entry Checklist
Before submitting, take a moment to look over the following checklist to make sure you’ve included everything necessary. Entries received that do not meet the following criteria will not be judged, and entry fees/entries will not be returned.
- Entry is no more than 100 words (not counting title)
- Entry pertains to the theme: Are you Devious at Heart?
- Cover Page is attached, including:
- 1. Author name
- 2. Story Title
- 3. Physical address
- 4. Phone number
- 5. Email address
- 6. Critique Requested (Yes or no)
- 7. PayPal Transaction ID/Amount Paid or Check Number/Amount
- Amount paid is $10 for first entry, $8 each additional entry (two entries would be $18, three would be $26, and so forth), $10 if you have requested a critique
- Story Title is on each page of the manuscript
- Author Name does NOT appear on the manuscript, only on the Cover Letter
- Proper Manuscript Format was used
- Entry is narrative in form and is not poetry
- If payment made by check, check is made out to Pikes Peak Branch National League of American Pen Women (or PPB-NLAPW)
- If payment is made by Paypal, Paypal payment has been made, with Transaction ID# from confirmation email included on Cover Page
- A SASE has been included if you wish to have a copy of your entry/critique mailed back to you (rather than emailed, which is the default process)
